ConnectAID, the International Solidarity Network, is seeking global citizens and change makers to help engage the wider public in its meaningful work. Our Community Advocate Program is a competitive process through which the most active, game changing and determined individuals are chosen to spread the word of our Movement. In a viral setting, ConnectAID offers you the chance to use your existing knowledge and experience as a bridge between people and humanitarian needs in the field.
We are now looking for an Intern Community Advocate (CA) with a focus on social media and Fundraising/ grant writing, 60% to 100%, 6 months minimum.
ConnectAID was founded on a strong network within the international development and humanitarian sector – but it owes much of its success to the support of individuals like yourself who want to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The commitment of people from many walks-of-life and varied experience is what has made ConnectAID the viral, essential and transformative Platform it is today.
ConnectAID, the International Solidarity Network, is a Swiss NGO based in Geneva. It works as a communication support and humanitarian social impact network dedicated to sustainable development actions, for greater social, humanitarian and environmental impact. Its goal is to connect people to international aid.
Understanding the challenges and complexities of the humanitarian and development aid sector, we support international nonprofit organizations, UN agencies, Foundations and Corporations to communicate about their impact and deliver the best sustainable development results. The ideal candidate is someone who is eager to find compelling, non-traditional ways to tell the stories of sustainable development impact through social media channels, with a goal of inspiring and engaging key audiences including Foundations, partners, donors, news media, and others.
This position is a combination of storytelling/content creation with an emphasis on social media management and fundraising. We are looking for a creative thinker/planner who is not afraid to suggest out-of-the-box ideas and work independently.
This person will be able to work remotely and will need to be flexible and reactive to last minute requests, as well as managing longer term deadlines.
Program Duration
Minimum of 6 months, 60% or more, home based

The Community Advocate/Social Media Intern role is offered on a voluntary basis. Participation in our Advocacy Program requires a minimum commitment of 6 months; however, longer commitment is expected.
Community Advocates work from home with frequent communication with our Team based all around the world. No working visa nor administrative document can be delivered. Active Advocates will however receive a Certificate of Merit/letter or recommendation upon completion of the 6-month Program. Those who display professionalism and passion for the work we do for sustainable development will be offered a more permanent and voluntary role as part of ConnectAID’s International Solidarity Network.
The Program is open to applicants of all nationalities and can be done from anywhere around the world. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time they start working in the Program.
