The goal of our Swiss Nonprofit organization is to connect individuals, nonprofits and corporates to international aid, allowing them to contribute directly to meaningful sustainable development efforts, including those needed to fight the disastrous international consequences of COVID-19.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As ConnectAID’s executive assistant, your specific responsibilities will be directed by ConnectAID’s Executive Director, and will include:

 

  1. Assist Executive Director in daily tasks
  • Drafting administrative documents for the international NGO
  • Coordinating daily activities with team of 50
  • Staying on top of emails and admin
  • Following-up on the donations received
  • Organising CEO’s meetings
  • Assisting CEO in meetings and leading meetings with team yourself,
  • Creating good-quality forms and documents when necessary
  • Organising, drafting, editing and sending out mass-emails

 

  1. Invoice Management
  • Keeping track of invoices
  • provide support to treasurer

 

  1. Editing, Translating & Proofreading
  • Provide translation (French English) when needed, including internal/external communications, social media, articles etc.
  • Copy-edit and proofread content on the platform and social media, ensuring quality content.

 

  1. Community Advocate Program participation
  • Staying updated with all the Task Force actions
  • Participating in the coordination of a community/team of Community Advocates
  • Participating in the preparation and organisation of group meeting and individual follow-ups
  • Onboarding new Community Advocates

 

  1. Partnership coordination
  • Keeping track of non-profits applications
  • Liaising with current partners where necessary
  • Scheduling, coordinating and leading meetings with partners

 

  1. Event

 

  • Participate in and help with the coordination of conferences and webinars, such as SDG Book corners and the World Summit of Social Media Influencers for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This conference is an annual high-level event, gathering SDGs influencers from around the world to take action online. The conference is held by ConnectAID and will be presented by Gaëlle Mogli, ConnectAID’s founder and CEO, and our Vice president Adam Rogers, author of “Taking Action Online for the Environment, Social Justice and Sustainable Development”.

 

  1. Other: Conduct any other task considered as a priority by ConnectAID’s CEO to ensure the success of the project.

 

Duties and Responsibilities as a Community Advocate (Common Duties)

  • Join an active community of Change Makers – As part of our Ambassador program, receive weekly guidelines to actively communicate about SDGs, the International Solidarity Network and nonprofits’ actions around the world.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings, training sessions, and task forces.
  • Write articles and quotes related to events participants' involvement.
  • Attend sustainable development events as an informal representative of ConnectAID.
  • Actively participate in social media presence using your own social media accounts and therefore extending you personal contacts and reach.
  • Be proactive in helping ConnectAID reach its goals for more solidarity, more impact on the ground.

 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Graduate or post-graduate experience communications or community management (or in other relevant fields)
  • Fluency in English and good knowledge of French
  • Strong interest in global socio-humanitarian and development initiatives
  • Proficiency in writing, translating and editing
  • Ability to be proactive, work independently and manage a team
  • Strong attention to details to ensure quality content
  • Good time and project management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to communicate in several languages is considered a plus.

 

PROGRAM DURATION:

Minimum of 6 months, full-time, home based. Volunteer position with the possibility to join the team depending on performance and growth of the organisation.

 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

This fellowship will start as soon as possible and requires the candidate to commit to a minimum of 8-months, at 60 to 100% capacity. Due to the nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the fellowship will be remote. No visa, paperwork nor work permit will be delivered to the candidate. Letters of recommendation including from our CEO Gaëlle Mogli, former UN Spokesperson in Geneva and Founder of ConnectAID, will however be delivered upon completion of the fellowship. 

This position will report to the Executive Director. Steeped in rich knowledge and on-the-ground international action, our ConnectAID Executive Team has over 20 years of experience in each of their dynamic sectors and stakeholder engagement.
