Today, we live in a world crippled by inequalities. Poverty, hunger, climate change, access to health and education, among other challenges are global concerns affecting us all.
The coronavirus crisis will push more than a quarter of a billion people into starvation unless swift action is taken to provide food and humanitarian relief to the most vulnerable. Famine could hit more than 30 developing countries, many already affected by conflict and climate change. Global supply chains have been disrupted by the pandemic, and resources are strained in post-lockdown economies. With already over 1 in 10 people worldwide living below the poverty line, the United Nations has warned 500 million more could fall into poverty as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
With the current "lack of sufficient solidarity with developing countries to address the dramatic economic and social impacts of the pandemic" (António Guterres, UN Secretary-General), it is our responsibility to act together and respond to needs of the most vulnerable populations. We have therefore created an innovated social impact network meant to increase the efficiency of sustainable development actions and enable you to become actor of international aid.
ConnectAID is the first combined philanthrophic and humanitarian social network. It allows nonprofits, corporates and individuals to get involved and contribute to sustainable development projects, and to become the change during the sanitary and economic crisis.
The International Solidarity Network is on a mission. We want to be a part of the change and to encourage solidarity differently.
Our goal is to connect you to international aid, for greater social, humanitarian and environmental impact.
We offer a new approach of international solidarity: the belief that together we can tackle sustainable development and the disastrous consequences of COVID-19.
An advanced technology serving common good
Nonprofits now have access to a new communication tool to inform their audience in real time about what is really happening on the ground.
Your window to the humanitarian world
ConnectAID allows you to create your personal profile and invite your connections to join. Your newsfeed informs you of current humanitarian and environmental issues, while keeping you up to date with on-going projects.
A connected solidarity
We can help you make safe and easy donations to support on-going development projects. All contributions are transparent, and allow you to witness the real impact of your generosity online.
Join the community of change makers
ConnectAID is built on the idea of community and networking as a way to bridge the gap between humanitarian needs in the field and individuals who want to help. We also offer, through our Volunteer, Sponsorship, Solidarity Trips and Ambassador Programs, the chance for anyone to become a global change maker.
Nonprofits who join forces with ConnectAID can reach a global audience. To help with the platform's expenses, partner organizations agree to cover transaction fees and to share a small percentage of the donations received. ConnectAID also offers optional communication services to help nonprofits coordinate their communication from the field and tell their story in a clear and compelling way.
The fund transfers between donors and nonprofit organizations are completely secure and reliable. Nonprofits collect their donations directly from our payment institution, in compliance with European laws which protect against money laundering and the potential financing of terrorism.
ConnectAID also offers optional communication services, helping nonprofits to focus completely on their activities on the ground. Whether the aim of nonprofits who join ConnectAID is to raise more funds or minimize their need for website investment, the platform's priority and principal beneficiaries remain the local communities directly impacted by humanitarian crises and development issues.
Any international nonprofit organization or Foundation whose on-going project(s) contribute to at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and that fulfil all legal requirements, can request a partnership. All nonprofit partners must meet our selection criteria and be able to provide tax deduction forms to their donors. Considering the current situation, priority for the next round of application will be given to actions related to the coronoavirus crisis.
